One of my many projects from my 3-Dimensional Design class last fall (yah yah, I'm a lazy git). Created from multiple barbies that I cut apart to get the necessary parts, along with various colours and thickness of wire for the wings and corset, and fabric used for the wings and skirt. Her legs were molded into a lotus-like pose by first submerging them in warm water (as hot as the tap water got in my dorm) and then wrapping them into that pose using a simple hairband. I then let her sit over-night, and left the hair-tie on her legs for most of the time I worked on her. Her additional arms were attached using wire and apoxy, while her wings were attached via holes I drilled in the doll's back and then the wire was threaded in and secured with some more apoxy. I attempted to repaint her face using watercolour paint (I think, it's been a while!), although I've concluded that my hands are waaay too shakey for custom paint-jobs on barbies. ^_* It was a lot of fun freaking out my classmates with my dismembering of barbie dolls, and incredibly therapeutic! Mwahaha. Her stand is solid oak that I sanded and stained.
